Getting a more app like experience right now

The Ascension Toolkit has been live now for a month and the feedback we have been getting has been amazing. One question we have received a few times though is “How can I get the app?”.

An app is one of the next big steps in our roadmap but it will be a while before it is available. However, the toolkit already works great on a phone, you can just access it through your normal mobile browser and everything is available to you.

There is however, a way that you can get a much more app like experience right now. We use it on our phones and it works great so we wanted to write a short guide on how you can do it too.

We have included instructions below for both Apple and Android Devices.

Apple

The following steps will guide you through adding The Ascension Toolkit to your home screen on an Apple iOS device. This guide assumes you have the latest updates for your device, if not, it will still be doable but the steps may be slightly different.

1. Launch the Safari App. It doesn’t matter if you normally use a different browser, you only have to do this once.
2. Visit the Ascension Toolkit.
3. Click on the share icon in the middle of the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a square with an up arrow.
4. Select the “Add to Home Screen” option. You may have to scroll a little to see this.
5. Click “Add” in the top right corner.

Android

The following steps will guide you through adding The Ascension Toolkit to your home screen on an Android device. This guide assumes you have the latest updates for your device, if not, it will still be doable but the steps may be slightly different.

1. Launch the Google Chrome App – It doesn’t matter if you normally use a different browser, you only have to do this once.
2. Visit the Ascension Toolkit.
3. Click the 3 dots in the top right hand corner
4. Click “Add to Home Screen”
5. Click “Add”
6. Click “Add” again

It’s that simple!

Congratulations, you are done! The Ascension Toolkit will now appear like an app on your home screen ready to launch whenever you wish.
